The “Basic Survival Course” is open to everyone, no previous experience or physical/athletic or sporting ability is required; however, what is required is the desire to get involved, to learn, to collaborate with the group and with the instructors, and absolute respect for the environment.

It will be two days and one night immersed in nature, far from the comforts and securities of modern life, outside your comfort zone and close to your fears.

The objective will be to face the ancestral fear of the night in the woods, learning the techniques and basic knowledge to overcome it.

The course will take place in a typical Mediterranean forest at an altitude of about 400 meters.

COURSE TOPICS:

- Orientation

- Shelter construction

- Insulation from the cold

- Lighting a fire

- Stress Management

- Knots, ropes and emergency harnesses

- Distress signals

- First Aid in Remote Areas

- Manta Tracking

- Making Water Potable

- Foraging (gathering edible herbs and fruits)

- Trapper Cooking

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:

- Work gloves (available at hardware stores)

- Headlamp

- Boots

- Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities

- Warm, waterproof jacket

- Sleeping bag (recommended at this time of year)

- Compass (optional)

- Energy bars (optional)

- A complete change of underwear: Socks, T-shirt etc. (all sealed in a double envelope).

- A change of clothes for the return journey.

- Any necessary medicines or other personal items, of which the participant must inform the instructors.

FOOD: provided by the organization, participants are kindly asked to communicate any food allergies/intolerances/restrictions.

MEETING POINT: Saturday NOVEMBER 25th at 8:30 in SORANO (you will be sent the exact location once you have registered); please be on time, survival doesn't wait.

The course will end on Sunday afternoon, approximately at 5:30 pm.

Note: the course will take place even if it rains, we are prepared for any weather condition. It will only be canceled at the instructors' discretion in case of extreme weather, where the safety of the participants could be at risk.

BOOKING AND COST OF THE COURSE:

The cost of the event is 160€ and includes the entire course, the material provided (backpack, food, shelter material, and also what will remain yours as a gift of the course: knife, cup, whistle, spoon, cordage), annual card, insurance and certificate.
