This course will offer you practical experience in the field of orientation, providing you with the skills necessary to effectively navigate in open spaces. Here is a summary of the topics you will cover:

Types of maps and compasses: You will learn how to use different types of topographic maps and the basics of using compasses to orient yourself.
- Map orientation: You will be guided on how to correctly interpret a map, understanding symbols, scales and other important elements.

Triangulation of a point: You will acquire the ability to determine your exact position by triangulating reference points on the map.
- Azimuth and reciprocal degrees: You will study the concepts of azimuth and reciprocal degrees to calculate directions and angles with precision.

Natural orientation: You will explore methods of orientation based on nature, such as the use of the sun, the winds, vegetation and the migrations of birds to find your direction.
- Night orientation: You will also learn how to orientate yourself at night using the stars and the moon as reference points.

P.A.U.L practical exercise: Finally, you will put into practice all the knowledge you have acquired through a practical exercise, the P.A.U.L, which will allow you to consolidate your orientation skills.
